Legal Notices for 03-03-20 meetingNOTICE OF CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Poway will hold a Public Hearing to consider the following item: Public Hearing for Approval of New Rate Structures, and Two -Year Water, Recycled Water, and Wastewater Rates. DATE OF MEETING: March 3, 2020 TIME OF MEETING: 7:00 p.m. LOCATION OF MEETING: City Council Chambers 13325 Civic Center Drive Poway, CA 92064 PROJECT NAME: Proposed Increases to Water and Sewer Rates STAFF: Aaron Beanan, Director of Finance PHONE NUMBER: (858) 668-4411 ANY INTERESTED PERSON may review the proposed resolutions and staff report, and obtain additional information at the City of Poway, City Hall, 13325 Civic Center Drive, Poway, California. In accordance with Article XIIID, Section 6 of the California Constitution, notice of the proposed rate structures and two-year water and sewer rate changes was mailed to every ratepayer of record on January 16, 2020. The City Council will conduct a Public Hearing on the proposed rate structures and two-year rate increases, and at that hearing will receive a final tabulation of all written protests received by the City Clerk. Protests must be submitted in writing to the City Clerk's Office by 4:30 p.m. on March 3, 2020, and will also be accepted in the Council Chambers at the Public Hearing. Following the Public Hearing, and if a majority written protest is not received for either proposed increase, the Council will then consider, and may adopt the proposed rate structure changes and water and sewer rates. If the City receives written protests against the proposed rates by a majority of affected property owners or ratepayers, the City will not impose the proposed rate structure changes and water and sewer rate increases. Written protests must contain a description of the property, such as the address or assessors parcel number, and the name and signature of the ratepayer submitting the protest.
