Attention Poway City Council: Councilmember Mullin's assessment that economy will be slow to recover is correct. All recent discussion at the City level has been about helping the unemployed. However, based on County data, the unemployed account for less than 30% of the community. The other 70% are still hanging on to their jobs -if those could be done from home. However, many of us attempting to work from home continue to struggle because of failing internet infrastructure. This is a direct result from the City of Poway's "doing things differently", i.e. harming the community they claim to serve. Councilmember Grosch failed the community last year when he was approached about fixing this. If the city wants to keep the Poway economy going, it must take immediate action to help 70% of its community maintain their jobs, generate income, and spend it in Poway. Time to stop playing cowboy hat politics and take action for the community! Assi Friedman Poway, CA 2of2 May 19, 2020, Item #5
