Good Afternoon Mr. Vaus,
My name is Debi Supergan and I have been a Poway resident since since 1987 and before that, San Diego. I'm a
retired High School Special Education teacher and I also was a contractor for the City of Poway for over 2 decades. Ive also owned 2 small businesses.
My plan is to speak at tonights council meeting, but in case there are technical difficulties, i'm emailing my
comments for consideration.
I am writing in total opposition to agenda item 10.
Id like to first address how this public meeting is being conducted. The Rothbarts are private, tax paying citizens of
Poway. These issues should not be addressed nor conducted in a public forum. Its despicable and outrageous and
nothing less than public shaming and and humiliation. This is abusive and a tactic used centuries ago, apparently
Poway has not evolved in the humanitarian path.
I have known the Rothbarts for years and I consider myself a neighbor as I live on Carlson St. . Theses are the most
compassionate, levelheaded, hard working, approachable, kind humans that I am proud to call a friend and a neighbor.
I personally have been approached by another neighbor, asking me certain personal questions regarding Mike and
Lori and certain situations. I was told that their was a group forming and they were having they own zoom meetings
regarding issues that certain neighbors have. My advice was go talk to them, rather cowardly to be banding against
another neighbor behind their backs. One complaint was,they have hay on their front portion their property that the
neighbors can view. At the time I told said person, that their hay is delivered and it is always taken back to beyond
their front fence. This group that has formed I feel are petty vigilantes being reinforced by the city. So much for the
motto of Poway being a "City in the Country". And forget about treating your neighbors they way you would want
to be treated.
I have been verbally accosted by 1 of their neighbors on several occasions because I have had the audacity of parking in front of the Rothbatrs property. Ive also had 1 very nasty, threatening note because I parked in front of
the Rothbarts home.
These fine people work CONSTANTLY on their property and I feel are being crucified by a handful of cruel, mean
spirited, entitled, vigilantes. That is the environment the Rothbarts live in. These folks would literally give the shirts off the back to help a strange or neighbor.
I believe I need to send this in by 3 :00, Im hoping you will share my insight with the rest of the council. I appreciate
this consideration.
