A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
ESTABLISHING AN AD HOC COMMITTEE FOR
THE MICKEY CAFAGNA COMMUNITY CENTER
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway has authorized the preparation
of a schematic design of the Mickey Cafagna Community Center to serve as a joint
community center and senior center, and
WHEREAS, the City intends to form an Ad Hoc Committee to provide input on
construction details and project costs associated with the facility, and
WHEREAS, the Ad Hoc Committee would serve until the construction documents
for the facility are complete; and
WHEREAS, the scope of the Ad Hoc Committee will be to review the schematic
design and construction documents for the facility.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Poway, as follows:
Section 1: An Ad Hoc Committee for the Mickey Cafagna Community Center is
hereby established. Members are expected to review the proposed building plans and
provide input and recommendations on project costs. The review should focus on
building materials, finishes, and construction related design details. The committee is
expected to review the schematic design options and provide input on the final
construction documents.
Section 2: The Mickey Cafagna Community Center Ad Hoc Committee should
consist of three to five members. Members of the Ad Hoc Committee should have a
background in development, construction or a related field. The committee will remain in
place until the construction documents are finalized.
Section 3: Interested individuals shall file an application to serve as a member of the
Mickey Cafagna Community Center Ad Hoc Committee. The City Manager shall have
the authority to select Ad Hoc Committee members and shall present the list of
members to the City Council prior to the formation of the committee.
