Public Hearing Notices for 1-10-17 meetingNOTICE OF CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Poway will hold a Public Hearing to consider the following item: A Public Hearing to introduce an Ordinance of the City of Poway, California, to adopt a Resolution to establish the Schedule of Water Service Rates and Charges effective January 1, 2017. DATE OF MEETING: January 10, 2017 TIME OF MEETING: 7:00 p.m. LOCATION OF MEETING: City Council Chambers 13325 Civic Center Drive Poway, CA 92064 PROJECT NAME: Proposed Increases to Water Rates STAFF: Peter Moote, Assistant Director of Administrative Services PHONE NUMBER: (858) 668-4414 ANY INTERESTED PERSON may review the proposed ordinance, resolution, and staff report, and obtain additional information at the City of Poway, City Hall, 13325 Civic Center Drive, Poway, California. In accordance with Article XIIID, Section 6 of the California Constitution, notice of the proposed water rate changes was mailed to every ratepayer of record on November 23, 2016. The City Council will conduct a Public Hearing on the proposed rate increases, and at that hearing will receive a final tabulation of all written protests received by the City Clerk. Protests must be submitted in writing to the City Clerk's Office by 4:00 p.m. on January 10, 2017, and will also be accepted in the Council Chambers at the Public Hearing. Following the Public Hearing, and if a majority written protest is not received for either proposed increase, the Council will then consider, and may adopt the proposed water rates. If the City receives written protests against the proposed rates by a majority of affected property owners or ratepayers, the City will not impose the proposed water rate increases. Written protests must contain a description of the property, such as the address or assessor's parcel number, and the name and signature of the ratepayer submitting the protest.
