Acceptance of the Old Poway Park Concrete Repairs Project;
Bid No. 17-013
Summary:
On January 24, 2017, the City Council awarded the contract for the Old Poway Park
Concrete Repairs Project; Bid No. 17-013, to Blue Pacific Engineering & Construction, in
the amount of $58,190.00. This action will accept the project as complete.
Recommended Action:
It is recommended that the City Council:
(1) Accept the Old Poway Park Concrete Repairs Project;
(2) Authorize the City Clerk to file and record the Notice of Completion;
(3) Authorize the release of the retention in the amount of $2,869.50, if
unencumbered, 45 days after City Council acceptance;
(4) Release the North American Specialty Insurance Company Bond for
Material and Labor in the amount of $58,190.00, after the release of
retention; and
(5) Retain the North American Specialty Insurance Company Bond for Faithful
Performance for a period of one year.
Discussion:
This project replaced walkways in the green space area of Old Poway Park, many original,
that deteriorated over time due to weathering.
There was one reduction Change Order in the amount of $800.00 due to a reduction in
material used. The final contract amount is $57,390.00.
Environmental Review:
This action is not subject to review under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)
Guidelines.
Fiscal Impact:
Sufficient funds are available in the Old Poway Park Concrete Repairs Project (3501 L)
for the release of retention.
