PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN the City Council of the City of Poway will hold a public hearing at the time and
location noted below for the purpose of taking public comment regarding draft voting district maps as part
of the City’s transition from an “at-large” election system of electing City Councilmembers to a “by-district”
election system. The City Council is considering the change in order to ensure compliance with the
California Voting Rights Act of 2001 (“CVRA”) and Federal Voting Rights Act of 1965. At the public hearing
described in this notice, the City Council may receive staff presentations regarding the draft district maps,
discuss the draft maps, and potentially eliminate some of the draft maps from further consideration:

If you wish to express concerns in favor or against the above, you may appear in person at the above
described meeting or submit your concerns in writing to the City Clerk, City of Poway. If you challenge the
matter in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public
hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the City Council at, or prior to,
the public hearing. If you have special needs requiring assistance at the meeting, please call the City Clerk's
Office at (858) 668-4530 at least 24 hours prior to the meeting so that accommodations can be arranged.
