SUBJECT: Acceptance of the City Office Building Telecommunications Cabling Project
(Bid Schedule No. 04-004)
ABSTRACT
On September 30, 2003, the City Council awarded the City Office Building Telecommunications
Cabling Project, located at 13325 Civic Center Drive in the City of Poway to Prime Electrical Services
in the amount of $119,299.00. Due to change orders and quantity adjustments, the final contract
amount was $265,831.13.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This project is exempt from the provisions of CEQA, as a Class 32 Categorically Exemption, pursuant
to the CEQA guidelines.
FISCAL IMPACT
There are sufficient funds in the project budget (1539) for this action.
ADDITIONAL PUBLIC NOTIFICATION AND CORRESPONDENCE
Prime Electrical Services, 510 Corporate Drive Suite A, Escondido, CA 92027.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council: (1) Formally accept the City Office Building
Telecommunication Cabling Project(Bid Schedule No. 04-004); (2)Authorize the City Clerkto record
a Notice of Completion; and (3) Authorize the release of retention for the amount of $12,959.81, if
unencumbered, 40 days after filing the Notice of Completion.

BACKGROUND
On September 30, 2003, the City Council awarded the City Office Building
Telecommunication Cabling Project, located at 13325 Civic Center Drive in the City of
Poway to Prime Electrical Services in the amount of $119,299.00.
FINDINGS
Due to change orders and quantity adjustments, the final contract amount was
$265,831.13. Staff finds the project to be complete in accordance with the standards and
specifications of the contract. It is recommended that the City Council approve acceptance
of the project.
