SUBJECT Compensation for the City Manager
Last year, the City Council adopted a methodology for setting the
eon ensati on, of the City Manager. His c o nation was set as the
average of the.total compensation paid to the City Managers of Carlsbad,
Coronado, La Mesa, Santee, and Vista. This plan. is based upon salaries
paid for the current fiscal year rather than the upcoming year. It
is suggested that the plan for this year be the five city average plus
5 percent as a means of maintaining the desired position. That formula
applied to the attached confidential salary osmputes to $87,802 or $88,000
total oDmpensation.
