Bradley Kutznerr Project Engineer DATE July l5f 1986 RE: Final Payment and Acceptance of Smgrovements for Lake Poway West Expansion -Phase III -B BACKGROUND On October 1, 1985.the. City Council awarded the contract for Installing Landscaping and Irrigation Improvements, Play Equipment and Miscellaneous Structures. The amount of the contract.was for $286,425.00. FINDINGS Two change orders have been approved for $2474 for a total of $288,899. However, the contract unit prices, times the quantities installed obligated the City of pay $316,114.75 for construction.. Total appropriations for the construction of this project exceed the obligation. Staff has: inspected the project -and findsthat it is complete and in compliance with the pians and specifications. RECOMMENDATIONS It is recommended that the City Council: 1) Formally accept the improvements. 2) Authorize the City Clerk to file and record a Notice of Completion. 3) Authorize the payment of the retention to the contractor in the amount of $15,805.74 if unencumbered 40 days of ter filing the - Notice of Completion.
