BACKGROUND
At its meeting of July 8, 1986, the City Council authorized staff to
solicit bids for the subject project.
FINDINGS
The following five bids were received:
1 Daley Corporation ........:.$697,65'1.70
2.' ABC Construction............ 668,176.64
3. Sim J. Harris............... 638,195.00
4. Southland Paving...........,.. 718,146.05
5. Asphalt Inc......,...:...... 709,265.15
The engineer's estimate was $810,800.00.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council award subject project -to the
lowest responsible bidder, Sim J. Harris Company in the amount of
$638,195.00.
