Dear Mr. Bowersox:
Due to the increasingly dangerous traffic situation in front
of Painted Rock Elementary School, we the members of the PTA
Board request that action be taken in order to circumvent .a
perennially perilous situation.
Though pastoral in appearance, Martincoit Road has been a
hazardous thoroughfare with drivers taking advantage of the
long stretch of roadwhile ignoring the safety of children
during the school day and others who use the facilities when
school is not in session.
We are painfully aware of the tragically fatal accident which
occured at Midland School several years ago. A. flashing light
was subsequently installed in order to prevent another catas-
trophe. It would, however, behoove the entire community to
act before lightning strikes twice and provide Martincoit Road
with a flashing light or a comparable device which would im-
pede the often speedy and reckless drivers.,
It is obvious that the health and welfare of our students
should supersede any intgonvenience to drivers, and it is in
this spirit that we make our plea.
