ABSTRACT In order to provide for the comprehensive review of _circulation: and land use related issues, Staff is recomluending expanding- the origi nally approved Poway Road: Specific Plan boundary. BACKGROUND The Poway Road Specific Planwork plan was originally, reviewed by n the City Council on December 19r., 1985. At. the hearing, thea Council approved the project, work program and project boundary map. Following the identification.of preliminary sub -area within the project boundary, Staff is recommending the. expans ion of the origi- nally considered. boundary. More speCifically, the southeast por- tion of the study area, should be: expanded southerly to the northern boundary of the South Poway Planned. Community area This southerly extension would occur east of Community Road and would terminate east of Clair Drive. This area has: been added so that Staff will;. be able to address, issues, relating to circulation, the future potential reparcelization of commercial. properties, and the separa- tion of and buffering of area land uses.. Staff is also-recom- mending lsorecommending thel inclusion: of the parcel at the southern terminus of Salver Lake Drive due to its proximity to the commercially zoned properties fronting Poway Road Additionally, in order to provide for the review o -f potential future public facilities; adjacent to Poway Road, Staff is including the Poway Road right-of-way, from the City's west boundary to the intersection of Poway Road and Es.pola Road, within the expanded st udv area The above mentioned expansion areas are illustrated on.
