SUBJECT: Hearing Schedule for Comprehensive Plan

I have prepared a preliminary schedule for thereviewof the Comprehensive
Plan. The schedule includes two phases of hearings. First, four
successive workshops to primarily introduce the plan by topic. These
workshops would be information oriented to explain the. purpose of the plan
and the various sections and answer questions posed by the City Council and
members of the community.The second phase would be formal public hearings'
where testimony would be taken on the Comprehensive Plan. The 52 amendment
requests we received would .be reviewed in this phase, in three groups.
Because the spring and summer City Council agendas are already being
reserved with other matters, I would like to have a schedule established in
the next week. It is important that the Comprehensive Plan workshop and
public hearing dates be left free from other matters to every extent
possible. Also, we should schedule all workshops and public hearings at
City Hall for logistical reasons.'
