Acceptance of the Old Poway Park Train Barn Expansion (#5641)
ABSTRACT
This contract was awarded to Randall Construction on January 20, 2004 in the amount of
$599,935.00. The final contract amount is $645,411.14. Staff finds the project to be complete in
accordance with the standards and specifications of the contract. It is recommended that the City
Council approve acceptance of the project.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
A Categorical Exemption was previously issued for the project. No additional environmental review is
required.
FISCAL IMPACT
The project was completed within the amount budgeted for the project (#5641). No additional funds
are needed.
ADDITIONAL PUBLIC NOTIFICATION AND CORRESPONDENCE
Randall Construction, 3656 Ruffin Road, Suite D, San Diego, CA 92123
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council: (1) Formally accept the Old Poway Park Train Barn
Expansion Project; (2) Authorize the City Clerk to file and record a Notice of Completion; and (3)
authorize the release of the retention for the amount of $32,270.55 if unencumbered, 40 days after
filing the Notice of Completion

BACKGROUND
On January 20, 2004, the City Council/Redevelopment Agency awarded the Old Poway
Park Train Barn Expansion to Randall Construction, in the amount of $599,935.00. This
project is located in the Old Poway Park.
FINDINGS
Three (3) change orders were issued for this contract. Due to the change orders and
quantity adjustments, the final contract amount is $645,411.14 for a net difference of
$45,476.14. Staff finds the project to be complete in accordance with the standards and
specifications of the contract. It is recommended that the City Council/Redevelopment
Agency approve acceptance of the project.
