Acceptance of the 2004-2005 Seal Coat Project (#407-4320)
Bid No. 04-017
BACKGROUND
On August 3, 2004, the City Council awarded the 2004-2005 Seal Coat Project to Roy Allen
Slurry Seal, in the amount of $422,497.11. The Engineer's estimate was $565,000 to $610,000.
Two change orders were issued for the net amount of $122,914.77. These change orders
added many additional streets to the original bid because of the very low unit prices. This bid
allowed the City to repair a larger number of streets than we had estimated would be possible
this year.
FINDINGS
The final contract amount was $545,411.88. Staff finds the project to be complete in accordance
with the standards and specifications of the contract. It is recommended that the City Council
approve acceptance of the project.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
The project is Categorically Exempt under Class 1, Section 15301 c, minor repair/alteration of
