ABSTRACT:
This proposal would award the Seal Coat Contract, 1998/1999 Street Maintenance Program,
located at various City of Poway streets, to Manhole Adjusting Contractors, Inc. in the amount of
$731,740.22. The contract time for the project is 60 working days. A portion of this work is in
Poway Royal Mobile Home Estates and will be paid for with Redevelopment funds.
FISCAL IMPACT
There are sufficient funds to complete the project.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This project is categorically exempt under Class I of CEQA.
ADDITIONAL PUBLIC NOTIFICATION AND CORRESPONDENCE
None.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council award the Seal Coat Contract, 1998/1999 Street
Maintenance Program to Manhole Adjusting Contractors, Inc. in the amount of $731 ,740.22 for
the quantities contained in the Base Bid.

BACKGROUND
On April 14, 1998, bids were opened for the Seal Coat Contract, 1998/1999 Street
Maintenance Program, located at various City of Poway streets. The Engineer's
Estimate was $650,000. The contract time for this project is 60 working days. A portion
of the Base Bid includes some streets in Poway Royal Mobile Home Estates. This
work, about $45,000 worth, will be the first effort to comply with the street maintenance
required in the settlement agreement with the Park residents. The remaining streets in
Poway Royal will be done with the City's Overlay contract to be awarded later this year.
Funding for the Poway Royal work will come from the Redevelopment project
established to finance the tasks outlined in the settlement agreement.
