Award of Bid for the 96-97 Slurry/Cape Seal
Program (407-4320)
On May 29, 1996, bids were opened for the 96-97 Slurry/Cape Seal Program. A
Call-Back provision was included as an Additive Bid Alternate. However, staff
had concerns over the specification issues expressed by the Contractors over
the Additive Bid Alternate. Consequently, staff recommends awarding the
contract on the Base Bid alone. The Engineer's Estimate for the Base Bid alone
was $800,000 to $B25,000. With the Additive Bid Alternate included, the
Engineer's Estimate was $1,100,000 for $1,150,000. The contract time for this
project is 30 working days.
