SUBJECT: Acceptance of the Community Road Widening Improvements
from Poway Road to Civic Center Drive (5277)
ABSTRACT:
Upon final inspection, staff finds the project to be in accordance with the standards
and specifications of the contract. It is recommended that the Redevelopment
Agency/City Council approve acceptance of the project.

FISCAL IMPACT
~-- Due to eight(8) chan§e orders and changes in the final quantities, the amount of the
contract was increased by $26,218.80 for a total contract amount of $245,843.80.

This project is categorically exempt under Section 15301 of the California
Environmental Quality Act.
ADDITIONAL PUBLIC NOTIFICATIONAND CORRESPONDENCE
None.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Redevelopment Agency/City Council: 1. Formally accept the improvements.
2. Authorize the City Clerk to file and record a Notice of Completion.
3. Authorize the release of the retention for the amount of $12,292.19, if
unencumbered, 40 days after filing the Notice of Completion.

SUBJECT: Acceptance of the Community Road Widening Improvements

BACKGROUND
On August 23, 1994 the Redevelopment Agency awarded the contract for the
Community Road Widening Improvements from Poway Road to Civic Center Drive to
the ABC Construction Co., Inc. The amount of the contract was $219,625.00.
FINDINGS
Due to eight (8) change orders and changes in the final quantities, the amount
of the contract was increased by $26,218.80 for a total contract amount of
$245,843.80.
FISCAL IMPACT
Due to additional street maintenance penformed under this contract at Poway
and Community Roads, $6,200 has been transferred from the street maintenance
budget. The remainder of the work was completed within budget.

This project is categorically exempt under Section 15301 of the California
Environmental Quality Act.
