SUBJECf: Solid Waste Interim Commission Issues
ABSTRACf
On February 15, 1994, the City Council reviewed the first draft of a proposed Joint
Powers Authority agreement that would create the San Diego Solid Waste Management
Authority. This agreement is still in draft form. Substantial additions, deletions,
and changes were made at a meeting of the Interim Solid Waste Commission on March 17,
1994. An all-day workshop of the Interim Solid Waste Commission has been scheduled for
April 7, 1994. It is anticipated that within the next several weeks, a master document
will have been created and be ready for review.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This report is exempt from CEQA review.
FISCAL IMPACT
None.
ADDITIONAL PUBLIC NOTIFICATION AND CORRESPONDENCE
None.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council postpone discussion of this matter until after
the April 7, 1994 Solid Waste Commission workshop to allow changes, additions, and
deletions to be incorporated into one master document.
