ABSTRACT
Bids for the poway Center for the Performing Arts were opened on
February 8, 1991 for the purpose of awarding a contract for
landscape maintenance services. staff recommends that the contract
be awarded to Pacific West Landcare.
BACKGROUND
Notice inviting bids for the landscape maintenance services for the
Center for the Performing Arts was published in the Powav News
Chieftain on December 20 and 27, 1990. Bid packages were mailed to
more than 20 interested contractors. A mandatory pre-bid
conference was held on January 18, 1991, and 14 contractors
responded by attending the meeting.
FINDINGS
On February 8, 1991, seven bids were received for the Performing
Arts Center landscape maintenance. The bids are for a thirteen-
month period and were as follows:

Pacific West Landcare is the low bidder for the project. Their bid
was within the estimated range it would take to maintain the
project. References for Pacific West are favorable for past and
present performance for various projects. Pacific West's monthly
bid amount is $407.
FISCAL IMPACT
The $5,291 is well within the costs that was anticipated to
maintain the landscape areas of the proj ect. Landscape maintenance
costs will be paid with the city's General Funds.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the city Council award the bid for landscape
maintenance services for the poway Center for the Performing Arts
to Pacific West Landcare in the amount of $ 5,291.
