Award of Contract for the Bowron Sidewalk Project;
(CIP #0411); Bid No. 14 -013
Summary:
This project includes the installation of new concrete sidewalk and replacement of two
driveway approaches on the east side of Bowron Road between Civic Center Drive and
Poway Road.
Recommended Action:
It is recommended that the City Council award the Bowron Sidewalk Project to Anton's
Service, Inc., the lowest responsible bidder, in the amount of $18,500.00.
Background:
The existing walkway is a deteriorated asphalt path that meanders around existing
utilities and is not wide enough to be ADA compliant. This project will replace that path
with a concrete sidewalk. The overhead utilities are being relocated by the utility
companies prior to the start of construction. The contract time for this project is 10
working days with an Engineer's estimate of $20,000.

a Class 1(c) Categorical Exemption, pursuant to Section 15301 of the 2014 CEQA
Guidelines, in that the project includes repair and replacement of an existing asphalt
sidewalk with a new concrete, ADA compliant sidewalk to meet the current standard of
public health and safety and that the repair and replacement of the sidewalk involves no
expansion of the existing use.
