Some places, like San Diego, experience Christmas in that alternate reality of glorious sunsets. Everybody's hanging around One thing for certain at this gathering is something Gilbert K. Chesterton observed: "I've searched all the parks in all the cities and found no statues of committees." Not only no statues here, but no committees either. Just neighbors and their dogs. Racing around the park "Dog" by Lawrence Ferlinghetti a real realist; with a real tale to tell; and a real tail to tell it with. And we look into our dog's eyes and read those tales to be told. So, here's a toast to Christmas Eve's Eve in our community park. Maybe there's no snow, just that glorious sunset. The getting together is what makes this eve enjoyable.
