SUBJECT: Consideration of Establishing City of Poway Hall of Fame
Over the past few months having witnessed the celebration of 50 years of the Poway
Historical Society, the one -time presentation of awards and recognition to deserving
residents, the completion of the Poway High School Hall of Fame Museum, and last
week's City Manager addition of further recognition of staff contributions, it seems both
timely and appropriate to consider the potential establishment of a City of Poway Hall of
Fame. In discussions with the City Manager, there is an underutilized 'walkway' to the
rear of City Hall that could form an exceptional, low -cost permanent demarcation for
those honored inductees into a City of Poway Hall of Fame.
Respectfully, I propose that we direct staff to investigate the feasibility, recommended
criteria, requirements, decision process and potential costs and report back to Council
for further consideration.
