SUBJECT: Award of Contract - Pomerado Road Soundwall -Phase I
BACKGROUND
The City Council has previously approved the use of tenth and
eleventh year CDGB funds for the construction of sidewalk, curb,
gutter, concrete block soundwall, street lights, landscaping and
irrigation for the subject project. Council has also authorized
the solicitation of bids on February 19, 1985.

The following bids were received for Phase I:
1. Hayward Enterprises, Inc. $185,388.35
2. Wm. Kirchnavy, Inc. $196,816.00
3. L. R. Hubbard Construction Co. Inc. $215,729.85
4. T. B. Penick & Sons, Inc. $247,517.00
The Engineer's estimate was $202,550.
There are sufficient funds available to build the project.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council award the contract to
Hayward Enterprises, Inc. dba Hayward Construction Co., as the
lowest responsible bidder, for $185,388.35
