RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY AUTHORIZING
APPLICATION FOR A COUNTY OF SAN DIEGO
NEIGHBORHOOD REINVESTMENT PROGRAM GRANT
WHEREAS, the County of San Diego Neighborhood Reinvestment Program
provides funding for County departments, public agencies, and non - profit community
organizations for one -time community, social, environmental, educational, cultural or
recreational needs; and
WHEREAS, the City of Poway is planning to construct the Tony Gwynn Memorial
and is raising funds to cover the project's costs; and
WHEREAS, the City of Poway wants to file an application with the County of San
Diego for Neighborhood Reinvestment Program funding to cover part of the cost of the
Tony Gwynn Memorial.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Poway
as follows:
1. That the City of Poway is confirmed to be a public agency under the laws of the
State of California;
2. That City staff is authorized to file an application with the County of San Diego
for Neighborhood Reinvestment funding during the County's 2015 -2016 fiscal year;
3. That the City Manager or, in the absence of the City Manager, the Assistant City
Manager is hereby authorized to execute a grant agreement with the County of San
Diego for Neighborhood Reinvestment Program funds for the 2015 -2016 fiscal year.
PASSED, ADOPTED, AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Poway at
a regular meeting this 17th day of May, 2016.
