A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
APPROVING THE STREET NAME
FOR THE PUBLIC STREET SERVING
FIRE STATION #3, AS LEONE WAY
WHEREAS, in February 1966 Captain Ignatius gg¥ Leone died while battling a
structure fire in Poway, and
WHEREAS, Captain Leone is the only Poway firefighter killed in action; and
WHEREAS, on September 2, 2003, the City Council held a public meeting on a
request to name the public street serving Fire Station #3 as Leone Way; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has read and considered the Agenda Report for the
proposed project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Poway, as follows:
Section 1' The City Council hereby approves the public street serving Fire Station #3,
located at 14322 Pomerado Road, as Leone Way.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Poway,
State of California, at a regular meeting this 2nd day of September 2003.
