Ord 591 ORDINANCE NO, 591
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION
10.32.010 OF THE POWAY MUNICIPAL CODE TO ESTABLISH SPEED LIMITS ON
CERTAIN ROADWAYS IN THE VALLE VERDE AREA, SOUTH OF ESPOLA ROAD
WHEREAS, Sections 22357 and 22358 of the California Vehicle Code permit an
increase or decrease in local speed limits upon the completion and recommendation of
an Engineering and Traffic survey; and
WHEREAS, City of Poway engineering staff have completed Engineering and
Traffic surveys of Avenida Florencia, Avenida La Valencia, Calle Colina, Calle Coda,
Camino Del Valle, and Via Del Toro, which recommend a speed limit of 25 mph for each
of these streets.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAY DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Section 10.32.010 of the Poway Municipal Code, Designation of
Speed Limits, is hereby amended to add the following six items:
STREET MPH SEGMENT
Avenida Florencia 25 From Espola Road to Del Node
Avenida La Valencia 25 From Westerly City Limit to Eastern End
Calla Colina 25 From Valle Verde Road to Avenida La Valencia
Calle Corta 25 From Valle Verde Road to Avenida Granada
Camino Del Valle 25 From Avenida La Valencia to Code Paulina
Via Del Toro 25 From Camino Del Valle (west) to Camino Del
Valle (east)
SECTION 2: This Ordinance shall be codified.
EFFECTIVE DATE: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force thirty (30)
days after the date of its passage; and before the expiration of fifteen (15) days after its
passage, it shall be published once with the names of members voting for and against
the same in the Poway News Chieftain, a newspaper of general circulation published in
the City of Poway.

Introduced and first read at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of
Poway held the 28th day of October, 2003, and thereafter PASSED AND ADOPTED at
a regular meeting of said City Council held the 18th day of November, 2003, by the
following roll call vote:
