A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAY,
CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING A TIME-RESTRICTED NO-PARKING ZONE ON
THE SOUTH SIDE OF SOLERA WAY 120 FEET WEST OF POMARD WAY TO
TANNIN DRIVE AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 00-008 RESTRICTING
PARKING ON TANNIN DRIVE
WHEREAS, Section 22507 of the California Vehicle Code permits local
authorities to establish "no parking" zones; and
WHEREAS, Section 10.28.080 of the Poway Municipal Code allows the City
Council to determine by resolution that it is necessary to prohibit stopping, standing
or parking on certain highways, or portions thereof, at all or certain hours of the
day, in order to facilitate the movement of traffic or to eliminate a hazardous
condition; and
WHEREAS, this Council has determined that a hazardous condition exists at
Solera Way and that the movement of traffic will be facilitated by restriction of
parking in this area; and
WHEREAS, this Council has determined that the recent construction project
on Tannin Drive has eliminated the need for certain parking restrictions on Tannin
Drive.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Poway as follows:
1. Resolution No. 00-008 is hereby rescinded.
2. Stopping, standing, and parking will not be permitted on the south
side of Solera Way, from Pomard Way past Tannin Drive to the
western end of the segment, Monday through Friday during the hours
of 7:30-9:30 a.m. and 2:00-4:00 p.m. on school days. Because certain
special school events require additional parking a few times per year,
the parking restrictions will be suspended at the school's request and
City staff's discretion during these events.
3. Stopping, standing, and parking will not be permitted along the
curbline within the Solera Way/Tannin Drive intersection.
4. These parking restrictions will not take effect until appropriate
signage or curb markings indicating the parking restrictions have
been installed on Solera Way and within the Solera Way/Tannin
Drive intersection.
