A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
POWAY, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF SAN DIEGO TO
RENDER SPECIFIED SERVICES TO THE CITY RELATING
TO THE CONDUCT OF A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 2017
WHEREAS, a Special Municipal Election is to be held in the City of Poway,
California, on Tuesday, November 7, 2017; for the purpose of submitting a proposed
ordinance entitled "Poway Open Space and Recreation Preservation Initiative"; and
WHEREAS, in the course of conduct of the election it is necessary for the City to
request and authorize the services of the San Diego County Registrar of Voters to conduct
the Special Municipal Election and canvass the returns of said election.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAY, DOES
RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That pursuant to the requirements of § 10002 of the Elections Code
of the State of California, this City Council requests the Board of Supervisors of the
County of San Diego to permit the Registrar of Voters to conduct a Special Municipal
Election in the City of Poway.
Section 2: That the Registrar of Voters Office of the County of San Diego is
authorized to canvass the returns of the Special Municipal Election.
Section 3: That the Board of Supervisors is requested to issue instructions to
the Registrar of Voters Office to take any and all steps necessary for the holding of the
Special Municipal Election.
Section 4: That the City Clerk is hereby directed to file a certified copy of this
• resolution with the Board of Supervisors and the Registrar of Voters Office of the County
of San Diego.
Section 5: That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this
resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions.

California, at a regular meeting thereof this 18th day of July 2017.
