RESOLUTION NO. P-02- 52
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
FINDING ONE NEW CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM PROJECT
FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF FIRE SUPPRESSION FACILITIES IS CONSISTENT
WITH THE CITY'S GENERAL PLAN
WHEREAS, Section 65401 of the State Government Code requires the City's
Planning Agency to review any Capital Improvement Program (CIP) in their jurisdiction
for conformance with its adopted General Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway serves as the City's Planning
Agency; and
WHEREAS, on January 15, 2002, the City Council determined the 2001-2007
Capital Improvement Program, including projects beyond the five-year time horizon, as
consistent with the General Plan; and
WHEREAS, the addition of the proposed Fire Suppression Improvements to the
City's Operations Yard at 12325 Crosthwaite Circle, is not a significant alteration to the
approved Capital Improvement Program and is therefore consistent with the General
Plan; and
WHEREAS, this determination is Categorically Exempt pursuant to CEQA
Guidelines Section 15061 (b) (3), General Rule, because there is no possibility that this
determination will have an adverse impact on the environment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Poway
as follows:
Section 1. In accordance with the goals, policies, strategies, diagrams and
tables of the Poway General Plan and supplemental planning documents such as the
South Poway Specific Plan, the Old Poway Specific Plan and the Poway Road Specific
Plan, the proposed Capital Improvement Program 2002/2007 will enhance the
achievements of the General Plan by improving service levels, by promoting public and
environmental health, safety and welfare, and by accommodating Poway's existing and
expected residents and businesses.
