RESOLUTION NO. 04- 047
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING A NO-PARKING ZONE AND
A TIME-LIMITED NO-PARKING ZONE ON MEADOWBROOK LANE
BETWEEN POMERADO ROAD AND EISENHOWER AVENUE,
AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 96-007
WHEREAS, Section 10.28.080 of the Poway Municipal Code allows the City Council
to determine by resolution that it is necessary to prohibit stopping, standing or parking on
certain highways, or portions thereof, at all or certain hours of the day, in order to facilitate
the movement of traffic or to eliminate a hazardous condition; and
WHEREAS, this Council has determined that a hazardous condition exists on
Meadowbrook Lane and that the movement of traffic will be facilitated by restriction of
parking in this area;
WHEREAS, the time-restricted no-parking zone on the south side of Meadowbrook
Lane, which was created by Resolution No. 96-007, will be superseded by the new
restrictions enacted in this Resolution; and
WHEREAS, this Council has determined that approximately 300 feet of double
yellow centerline and channelization line should be installed on Meadowbrook Lane
between Pomerado Road and Eisenhower Avenue to create a 10-foot-wide left-turn lane
and a 12-foot-wide right-turn lane in the eastbound direction (approaching the traffic signal
at Pomerado Road) and an 18-foot-wide westbound lane departing from the subject traffic
signal with appropriate signing and legends.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Poway
as follows:
1. Resolution No. 96-007 is hereby rescinded.
2. Stopping, standing and parking will not be permitted on the south side of
Meadowbrook Lane, from Pomerado Road to Eisenhower Avenue.
3. Stopping, standing and parking will not be permitted on the north side of
Meadowbrook Lane, from Pomerado Road to Eisenhower Avenue, during the
hours of 7-9 a.m. and 2-4 p.m. on school days.
4. These parking restrictions will not take effect until appropriate red curb and
signage indicating the parking restrictions have been installed on Meadowbrook
Lane.
