A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
POWAY, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING 2018 RECYCLED WATER
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF POWAY AND THE CITY
OF SAN DIEGO
WHEREAS, the City of Poway(Poway) and the City of San Diego(San Diego) entered into
an agreement dated March 3, 1998, and expiring on June 30, 2018, regarding sales of recycled
water from San Diego to Poway and filed as Document No. RR-289817 in the office of the Clerk of
the City of San Diego;
WHEREAS, San Diego constructed The Scripps Poway Parkway Recycled Water
Distribution System up to Poway city limits as part of the San Diego Recycled Water Distribution
System;
WHEREAS, San Diego's distribution system also serves recycled water to Poway and
Poway desires to purchase recycled water from San Diego for allowable,suitable non-potable uses;
WHEREAS, San Diego desires to sell recycled water to Poway, and Poway desires to
purchase up to nine hundred fifty (950) acre feet recycled water annually; and
WHEREAS, the attached agreement provides terms for the supply and sale of recycled
water to Poway in a fair and equitable manner to both parties.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Poway as follows:
Section 1: That the City Manager or, in the absence of the City Manager, the Assistant
City Manager, is hereby authorized to execute the 2018 recycled water agreement.
PASSED,ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Poway,California,
at a regular meeting this 5th day of June 2018.
