Ord 618 ORDINANCE NO. 618 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA, TO SET SPEED LIMITS ON TWIN PEAKS ROAD BETWEEN POMERADO ROAD AND COMMUNITY ROAD AS SET FORTH IN SECTION 10,32.010 OF THE POWAY MUNICIPAL CODE WHEREAS, Sections 22357 and 22358 of the California Vehicle Code permit an increase or decrease in local speed limits upon the completion and recommendation of an Engineering and Traffic Survey; and WHEREAS, City of Poway Engineering staff has completed an Engineering and Traffic Survey for Twin Peaks Road between Pomerado Road and Community Road in the City of Poway, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: It is determined upon the basis of an Engineering and Traffic Survey that the speed limits otherwise authorized by State law on Twin Peaks Road between Pomerado Road and Community Road differ from that which is necessary for the safe operation of vehicles, The speed limits of 45 MPH on Twin Peaks Road between Pomerado Road and Community Road are determined to be the most appropriate to facilitate the orderly movement of traffic in a reasonable and safe manner, and shall be effective when appropriate signs giving notice thereof are erected upon the street. SECTION 2: This Ordinance shall be codified. EFFECTIVE DATE: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force thirty (30) days after the date of its passage; and before the expiration of fifteen (15) days after its passage, it shall be published once with the names of members voting for and against the same in the Po way News Chieftain, a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Poway, Ordinance No. 618 Page 2 Introduced and first read at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Poway held the 25th day of January, 2005, and thereafter PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of said City Council held the 8th day of February, 2005, by the fOllowing roll call vote: AYES: BOYACK, EMERY, HIGGINSON, REXFORD, CAFAGNA NOES: NONE ABSENT: NONE DISQUALIFIED: NONE ATTEST: ~uW lOti};vu>> Sherrie D.
