RESOLUTION NO. 04-081
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAY,
CALIFORNIA SUPPORTING PROPOSITION BB - HOSPITAL, EMERGENCY
CARE, TRAUMA CENTER IMPROVEMENT, AND REPAIR MEASURE
WHEREAS, overcrowding is jeopardizing the quality of care provided at
our local hospitals increasing wait times and delaying surgeries; and
WHEREAS, repairs and upgrades to Palomar Medical Center and
Pomerado Hospital are critically needed to ensure that buildings are earthquake
safe and patients have access to life-saving medical technology; and
WHEREAS, Proposition BB repairs, upgrades, and expands our
overcrowded, aging Trauma Center, Emergency Rooms, and Palomar Medical
Center and Pomerado Hospital to adequately serve North County's rapidly
growing and aging population; and
WHEREAS, Proposition BB is fiscally responsible with an Independent
Citizens' Oversight Committee and annual audits to ensure money is spent as
promised, and that no money will be used for administrator's salaries.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of Poway does hereby support Proposition BB, a ballot measure, which will
enable Palomar Pomerado Health to provide the highest quality of medical
treatment to our local communities.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of
Poway, State of California, this 28th day of September 2004.
