RESOLUTION NO. 05- 009
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA
AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE CALIFORNIA
DEPARTMENT OF WATER RESOURCES FOR THE URBAN STREAMS
RESTORATION PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the California Department of Water Resources, Division of Planning
and Local Assistance, Urban Streams Restoration Program has announced the
availability of funds for grants; and
WHEREAS, said grants are intended to help solve flooding and erosion problems
in a way that provides environmental enhancement; and
WHEREAS, the Poway Tree Committee will co-sponsor a grant application with
the City of Poway; and
WHEREAS, the Poway Creek Restoration Project proposed for funding with the
grant funds would be environmentally beneficial, and the City of Poway will comply with
all requirements of CEQA prior to implementation of the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Poway
as follows:
Section 1. The City of Poway approves the joint application with the Poway Tree
Committee for an Urban Streams Restoration Grant.
Section 2. If offered such a grant, the Director of Public Works is hereby
authorized to accept and sign any contract for administration of grant funds, and the
Public Works Operations Manager to act as Project Manager. The Project Manager is
delegated with authority to manage the Agreement and to delegate authority to provide
management and support service required for performance of work and administration
of the agreement.
PASSED, ADOPTED, AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Poway
at a regular meeting this 15th day of February 2005.
