Mr. Tony Aviano, 12729 Stone Canyon Road, spoke in opposition to requiring sprinklers in multi-family structures. This item was requested by the City Council as a result of a program being conducted by the Coronado Fire Department which allows drop-off of household hazardous materials at any time. There are many problems, including liability, associated with this program. Staff recommends the City do one-day collections on a periodic basis, such as monthly or quarterly. In addition, there are no longer any places in Poway to dispose of used motor oil and, since this is the only household hazardous waste that is not in its original container, staff should make a special effort to develop a program for this item. Council concurred with staff recommendation. ADJOURNMENT Upon motion by Councilmember Kruse, seconded by Councilmember Emery, Mayor Higginson ordered the meeting adjourned. The time of adjournment was 6:10 p.m. L Marjorie'K. Wahlsten, City Clerk City of POway 3713
