RESOLUTION NO. 05-045
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA,
ESTABLISHING ALL-WAY STOP CONTROLS AT
SILVERSET STREET AND PALISADES DRIVE/ARBOLlTOS DRIVE
WHEREAS, Section 21100 of the California Vehicle Code permits local authorities
to adopt by resolution traffic control measures meeting the requirements set forth under
Section 21351 of the California Vehicle Code; and
WHEREAS, Section 21351 of the California Vehicle Code permits the establishment
of stop controls in the City of Poway; and
WHEREAS, the intersection of Silverset Street and Palisades Drive/Arbolitos Drive
has stop controls for Palisades Drive and Arbolitos Drive only; and
WHEREAS, an additional stop control for Silverset Street approach traffic will
improve the intersection operation and safety for motorists and pedestrians alike; and
WHEREAS, marking the pedestrian crosswalks for all approaches of the
intersection will heighten the level of safety for pedestrians and drivers alike; and
WHEREAS, this Council has determined that stop controls and marked crosswalks
should be established.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Poway as
follows:
Section 1: In accordance with said Section 21351 ofthe California Vehicle Code, all-way
stop controls shall be installed at the intersection of Silverset Street and Palisades
Drive/Arbolitos Drive.
Section 2: The pedestrian crosswalks at the intersection of Silverset Street and
Palisades Drive/Arbolitos Drive shall be striped and/or marked for all three approaches.
PASSED, ADOPTED, AND APPROVED by the City Council ofthe City of Poway, at
a regular meeting, this 14th day of June 2005.
