How many business in Poway fit the criteria established by the program? Based on the terms, only 40 would be able to procure a loan unless the 2 million was expanded. My question is specifically related to the terms/requirements for the loans. I see that there is "city manager discretion on a case by case basis", but at face value are there enough business that even qualify, or are the terms too restrictive? The opposite side of that is also valid, are the terms too loose and likely more applicants than can be supported? I understand not having a perfect solution, but what efforts were done to determine the restrictions? I would assume a starting point of identifying all businesses (based on ability to operate in Poway-licensing) then narrowing down to get close. Is this information available to give a more clear picture as to why the restrictions listed were chosen? -Chris 2 of 4April 16, 2020, Item #1 From: To: Subject: Date: Attachments: Thank you, Faviola Medina Ana Alarcon FW: 4/16/20 Special City Council Meeting, PEARL Program Thursday, April 16, 2020 1 :10:53 PM image00l .png Faviola Medina, CMC City Clerk City of Poway I City Clerk's Office 13325 Civic Center Drive I Poway, CA 92064 fmedina@poway.org I 858-668-4535 From: Craig Ruiz <CRuiz@poway.org> Sent: Thursday, April 16, 2020 1:06 PM To: Faviola Medina <FMedina@poway.org> Cc: Wendy Kaserman <WKaserman@poway.org> Subject: FW: 4/16/20 Special City Council Meeting, PEARL Program Here is one comment letter for tonight. Ramada Poway hotel is a Independently owned & operated. Our Franchisee Wyndham worldwide 3 of 4April 16, 2020, Item #1 has not given any protection money in fact all hoteliers like Marriots. MGM, Choice, Hilton etc etc have requested Government to help them so they can sustain & retain the staff. Wyndham has fired many employees as they cannot pay salary. Our DOS is without job right now. 2. We have requested County, Bankers, Wyndham etc & now also to Poway City to help us in anyway they can. Yet we have not received any positive encouraging response from anyone. We were glad that city of Poway is taking some action to help small businesses & our hopes were with you for some sort of help in retaining our staff ( which is our top priority), & also be able to pay the bills slowly. 3. April month is critical as we have to pay Property tax, TOT, Bank loan, salary & utility bills, In surname etc etc. Our request is to consider us as we are Independently owned & operated business. Wyndham trying to help but are themselves in problems. May the Council meeting consider our case seriously & decide to help us in anyway they can. Our hopes is with City as we are paying TOT in time & have always there to help City of Poway. Thanking you, Ashok Bhatt (GM) Ramada Poway 12448 Poway Rd.
