It will improve my area, also I will decrease the risk of wild fires. I personally love the fact that the project will keep a lot of open spaces for the community, and as a dad of a 9 month baby I get exited about the butterfly place where my baby will love to experience. My address is 17744 villamoura dr Poway ca 92064. Please reach out to me if you have any questions. Re: June 16th, 2020 Meeting Subject: Support for "The Farm in Poway" Poway has been my home for 23 years at 17232 Saint Andrews Drive (fonnerly a Stoneridge Country Club perimeter street,) Living with my wife who is a retired science teacher of San Diego City Schools, we raised two children graduating from Poway Unified School District where I spent 30 years in Facilities until retiring in 2016. I am a proud 'Poway Community Leadership Institute' participant and for 10 years a member of the Rancho Bernardo Chorale. It will never be acceptable or feasible to leave the property as-is in a long term condition. It will only get worse, be an attractive nuisance to vandals, and a fire hazard creating an unsafe community at large. I believe that The Fann is an exceptional project. This is a project that enhances Poway at large and benefits all it's residents, not just a select few. There is a phenomenal percentage of open space afforded by this plan with amenities that all Poway residents can enjoy like swi1mning, hiking, biking, tennis, and social venues like a meeting barn, amphitheater and wine and beer garden cafe. This plan provides homes that are needed and these will be built in a similar size and price to complement the surrounding homes. The traffic and transportation will be improved not just at the project bounded streets, but interconnected with other main thoroughfares in Poway. The educational venues provided in agriculture and butterfly studies will be an civic asset for outreach to the children and adults in our c01mnunity. Insofar as the completed project will have an 'insignificant' in1pact as concluded by an independent and exhaustive EIR review, I strongly encourage voting YES on this project (with all eight items.) Several years ago I voted against Prop A over concern that the land would be overdeveloped with condos and townhomes and that Poway voters wouldn't be protected from changes to the proposed development. The FARM is very different-the number of housing units in the plan is modest relative to the amount of land and goes a step further to preserve additional land for open space and much needed public amenities in North Poway. As excited as I am about the proposed public amenities, I find it assuring that any changes to the permitted land use under the plan would be required to go back to a vote by Poway voters -which protects residents. This is the type of development Poway needs to keep this neighborhood desirable. I also gain confidence in the fact that local resident Kevin McNamara is leading this project, and that he took the time to develop a plan that considers the interests of all parties involved, particularly with concessions he made in favor of Poway voters. Traffic and noise seem to be more than adequately mitigated. Altogether, it allows for needed Poway growth while still maintaining the open space and the city in the country culture that this town cherishes. I look forward to the day in the not too distant future when we can replace the vandalized and dilapidated land with a family-friendly development, open parks and trails and a redeveloped boulevard that Poway deserves. The Farm in Poway could be a model for the right way to repurpose and revitalize blighted land from defunct golf courses! I ask City Council to vote in favor of the Farm in Poway project. The amount of profits they plan to gain is unheard of and comes from stealing the land and by causing pain to humans. I have no power compared to yours, but I hope that you will serve your constituents as you vowed to do and at least reduce the size and impact of the proposed development. Schlesinger stole the land and the worst kind of kanna awaits him. Please do not hitch yourself to his atom bomb. Do you want to be that type of person? This profit is gained by stealing the lifestyles of homeowners around the property. I fear that you are participating with the developers and will ignore your followers because you'll get some of that juicy cash too. I understand that all that money influences you, but will your humanity be intact? Good luck and bless you, Carole W. 619-301-2678
