It has been such a great place to raise a family. We appreciate the service of public servants who have helped make Poway great. I would like to express concern about the ownership of the PCPA being passed to PUSD. I strongly oppose this move. I understand that financial concerns are the driving force behind trying to find a solution, and honor efforts to keep city budgets solvent. However ... The PCPA is part of what makes Poway special. Having a professional theater venue is a big bonus for a community. I have attended many events at the PCPA over the years, some school sponsored and some professional, and have always been impressed by the venue and the professional way it is run. It would be a travesty to turn the fate of one of our community's jewels over to the school district, which has a terrible history of facility maintenance. They could not possibly hope to meet the expenses of the PCPA, especially since PUSD already has tens of millions of dollars of unmet facility needs in the district. It seems to me that having PUSD take over the PCPA is not only a very poor fit, but will doom Poway's Performing Art Center to slide into disrepair. It would no longer be the asset to Poway that it is now. Please do all that is possible to keep the PCPA as a community facility. Thank you for your time and attention. Respectfully, Dana Hamson
