RESOLUTION NO. 05-093
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CAliFORNIA,
INSTALliNG A STOP CONTROL ON GOLDEN WAY
AT POWAY ROAD
WHEREAS, Section 21100 of the California Vehicle Code permits local authorities
to adopt by Resolution traffic control measures meeting the requirements set forth under
Section 21351 of the California Vehicle Code; and
WHEREAS, Section 21351 of the California Vehicle Code permits the City of
Poway to install and maintain stop controls in the City; and
WHEREAS, Section 21804 of the California Vehicle Code requires a driver of any
vehicle about to enter or cross a highway from any public or private property, or from an
alley, to yield the right-of-way to all traffic approaching on the highway close enough to
constitute an immediate hazard, and shall continue to yield the right-of-way to that traffic
until he or she can proceed with reasonable safety; and
WHEREAS, the northern approach of the intersection, Olive Tree Lane, has a stop
control with appropriate striping and marking; and
WHEREAS, a stop control on Golden Way, the southern approach, will improve the
intersection operation and safety for motorists and pedestrians alike.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Poway as
follows:
Section 1: In accordance with said Section 21351 ofthe California Vehicle Code, a stop
control shall be installed on Golden Way at Poway Road.
PASSED, ADOPTED, AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Poway, at
a regular meeting, this 15th day of November 2005.
