adjourned from the January 28, 1992, regular meeting, was called to order at
4:35 p.m. by Mayor Goldsmith at the City Council Chambers, 13325 Civic Center
Drive, Poway, California.

GOALS & OBJECTIVES FOR 1992-93
Mayor Goldsmith requested concurrence to continue discussion of the Council's
goals and objectives to a date when the all of the Councilmembers could be pre-
sent. Council concurred to continue this item to February 11, 1992.
Mayor Goldsmith thanked the Budget Review COFlwi)ittee members Mary Smith, Tom
Tremble and James Crosby who were present for this item.
Mayor Goldsmith requested Councilmembers provide their comments in writing prior
to the meeting.

PREDEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE 92-01
ENTERTAINMENT CENTER/SKIP FLEMING
Item introduced by City Manager Bowersox. This is a proposal for a youth enter-
tainment center by John E. "Skip" Fleming, Eagle 13, to be located at the former
Western Lumber site on Poway Road.
Skip Fleming, 13343 Via Mark, introduced his business associate, Stuart Holmes,
who was present. Mr. Fleming presented his proposal for a youth oriented
entertainment center which would include indoor recreational uses, such as, pool
tables, skating rink, live music and entertainment, malt shop, arcade games; and
outdoor uses, such as miniature golf, skate board park, slick go-karts, and
batting cages. He stated that he is interested in purchasing adjoining property
to the west to facilitate an extension of Tarascan Drive providing enhanced
access to the entertainment center and to Community Park.
Council concurred that this type of center could be beneficial and discussed
issues regarding supervision/security, lighting, and access from Poway Road.

Goldsmith ordered the meeting adjourned. The time of adjournment was 5:06 p.m.
