NINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL ADJOURNED REGULAR NEETING
HARCH 19, 1992
The March 19, 1992, meeting, adjourned from the March 17, 1992 regular meeting
of the City Council of the City of Poway, was called to order at 4:35 p.m., by
Deputy Mayor McIntyre at the City Council Chambers, 13325 Civic Center Drive, Poway,
California.

BUSINESS ADVISORY COMMITTEE JOINT WORKSHOP
Business Advisory Committee members present included Jeannie Niles, Chairperson,
Kyle Everson, Stephanie Starks (arrived at 4:44 p.m.), DeAnne Erickson {arrived at
4:44 p.m.), Dennis Shirrel {arrived at 4:45 p.m.}, Diane Rath (arrived at 4:45
p.m.}, and Larry Valente (arrived at 5:17 p.m.).
Director of Administrative Services Stewart reviewed the results of the marketing
plan survey which was sent to all Poway households with the Redevelopment Agency
newsletter. There was a 5% return which was higher than anticipated.
Council and Committee discussion included the city's commitment to work with the
business community; funding sources for future newsletters; monument address signs
on Poway Road; and ways of using all the material that has been generated by the
marketing consultant.
(Councilmember Higginson left the meeting at 5:00 p.m.)

Councilmember Snesko distributed a proposed "Shopping Poway Made Easy" brochure he
is putting together for distribution to residents in the region. He stated he is
having a meeting with local merchants next week to solicit donations for prizes for
a contest between May and Poway Days to encourage citizens to visit every business
in Poway.
Council and the Committee discussed the project underway with the Committee and
Chamber to print a business guide in the Poway phone book.
Councilmember McIntyre suggested an "official delegation" representing the Council
and Chamber of Commerce to court new businesses which would complement existing
businesses could be beneficial.
Council and the Committee discussed the proposed graffiti ordinance and a street
banner program.
ADJOURNMENT
Upon motion by Councilmember Snesko, seconded by Councilmember Emery, Deputy Mayor
McIntyre ordered the meeting adjourned. The time of adjournment was 5:45 p.m.
