A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
POWAY, CALIFORNIA, INITIATING A SPECIFIC PLAN
AMENDMENT (SPA 84-01YYY) TO THE SOUTH POWAY
SPECIFIC PLAN TO CHANGE THE LAND USE
DESIGNATION ON TWO VACANT PROPERTIES
TOTALING APPROXIMATELY 7.65 ACRES LOCATED ON
THE NORTH SIDE OF DANIELSON STREET, WEST OF
FIRST AMERICAN WAY, FROM LIGHT INDUSTRIAL TO
INDUSTRIAL PARK.

WHEREAS, Chapter 17.47 (Specific Plan Regulations) of Title 17 (Zoning
Development Code) of the Poway Municipal Code provides the requirements for the
initiation, preparation, and adoption of Specific Plans in accordance with Section 65450,
et seq., of the California Government Code (Article 8, Specific Plan); and
WHEREAS, Section 17.47.020.C (Initiation) of the Zoning Development Code
provides that the City Council may initiate the preparation of, or amendment to, a
Specific Plan on property by Resolution; and
WHEREAS, a Specific Plan Amendment is proposed to change the Land Use
Designation on two vacant properties totaling approximately 7.65 acres located on the
north side of Danielson Street, west of First American Way, from Light Industrial to
Industrial Park.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Poway
as follows:
Section 1: The City Council finds that a Negative Declaration was issued in
conjunction with SPA 84-0100 on July 17, 2001, which evaluated the conversion of
Light Industrial properties to the Industrial Park designation and that the proposed
project is within the scope of the prior environmental document; therefore, no additional
environmental review was conducted.
Section 2: The City Council of the City of Poway hereby initiates a Specific Plan
Amendment (SPA 84-01YYY) to change the Land Use Designation on two vacant
properties totaling approximately 7.65 acres located on the north side of Danielson
Street, west of First American Way, from Light Industrial to Industrial Park.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Poway,
State of California, at a regular meeting this 2nd day of May 2006.
