Res 06-036 RESOLUTION NO. 06-036 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA INITIATING PRE-GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT 06-01A, B, and C AND SPECIFIC PLAN AMENDMENT 89-01A WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Poway recognizes that the need may arise to amend the City's General Plan; and WHEREAS, Section 65350, et seq., of the California Government Code describes the procedures for amending General Plans; and WHEREAS, Section 17.46.020B of the Poway Municipal Code (Zoning Ordinance) provides that a change in the boundaries of any zone or a change in regulations may be initiated by Resolution of the City Council and Section 17.47.020C provides that the preparation or amendment of a Specific Plan may be initiated by Resolution of the City Council; and WHEREAS, on May 16, 2006, the City of Poway held a properly noticed public hearing in accordance with the California Government Code, and WHEREAS, Pre-General Plan Amendment 06-01A consists of a re-designation of 9.07 acres located on the northeast corner of Poway Road and Midland Road from Automotive/General Commercial (AlGC) to Commercial General (CG), and WHEREAS, Pre-General Plan Amendment 06-01 B consists of a re-designation of 0.51 acres located on the northeast corner of Poway Road and Midland Road from Automotive/General Commercial (AlGC) to Commercial General (CG), and WHEREAS, Pre-General Plan Amendment 06-01C consists of the re-designation of approximately 122.49 acres from Rural Residential A (RR-A) to Planned Community (PC), and WHEREAS, Specific Plan 89-01A consists of the modification of the existing Old Coach Estates Planned Community boundaries to incorporate the 122.49 acre Sunroad Enterprises property. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Poway as follows: Section 1: Initiation of a proposed General Plan and/or Specific Plan Amendment is not subject to CEQA review. Section 2: The City Council hereby approves the Initiation of Pre-General Plan Amendment 06-01A and B that proposes to change the land use and zoning of two parcels Resolution No. 06-036 Page 2 located on the northeast corner of poway Road and Midland Road from AJGC to CG, Pre- General Plan Amendment 06-01C that proposes to change the land use and zoning of a 122.49-acre site located on Old Coach Road from RR-A to PC, and (SPA) 89-01A that proposes to amend the Old Coach Estates Specific Plan to incorporate the 122.49-acre site.
