RESOLUTION NO. 06-064
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA,
APPROVING A STOP SIGN ON THE WESTBOUND APPROACH OF PASEO COLINA
TO THE OLD POMERADO ROAD INTERSECTION
WHEREAS, Section 21100 of the California Vehicle Code permits local authorities
to adopt by Resolution traffic control measures meeting the requirements set forth under
Section 21351 of the California Vehicle Code; and
WHEREAS, Section 21351 of the California Vehicle Code authorizes local
authorities within their jurisdictions to place and maintain traffic signs or cause to be placed
and maintained such traffic signs upon streets and highways; and
WHEREAS, Section 21354 of the California Vehicle Code authorizes local
authorities to designate any highway under its jurisdiction as a through highway and erect
stop signs at entrances thereto; and
WHEREAS, Sections 10.24.010 of the City's Municipal Code authorizes the City
Council to designate any highways or portions of highways as a through highway; and
WHEREAS, in order to facilitate the flow of traffic in a safe and efficient manner, Old
Pomerado Road at Paseo Colina intersection should be designated as a through highway.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Poway as
follows:
Section 1: In accordance with said Section 21354 of the California Vehicle Code, Old
Pomerado Road at Paseo Colina intersection is designated as a through highway as
defined in Section 600 of the California Vehicle Code.
Section 2: In accordance with said Section 21354 of the California Vehicle Code, a stop
sign shall be installed for westbound Paseo Colina traffic approaching the Old Pomerado
Road intersection.

a regular meeting, this 1st day of August 2006.
