RESOLUTION NO. 06-066
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CALIFORNIA,
ESTABLISHING A TWO-HOUR PARKING ZONES ON SILVER LAKE DRIVE
SOUTH OF THE POWAY ROAD INTERSECTION
WHEREAS, Section 21100 of the California Vehicle Code permits local authorities to
adopt by Resolution traffic control measures meeting the requirements set forth under Section
21351 of the California Vehicle Code; and
WHEREAS, Section 22507 of the California Vehicle Code permits local authorities to
prohibit or restrict the parking of vehicles on roadways within their jurisdiction during all or
certain hours of the day; and
WHEREAS, Sections 10.28.080 of the Poway Municipal Code authorizes the City to
prohibit stopping, standing or parking on certain highways, or a portion thereof, at all or certain
hours of the day; and
WHEREAS, City staff has observed that cars parked on Silver Lake Drive, south of the
Poway Road intersection could constitute a potential hazardous condition.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Poway as
follows:
Section 1: In accordance with said Section 22507 of the California Vehicle Code, 200 feet
of red curbing, measured from the Poway Road intersection on the west side of Silver Lake
Drive, shall be established as No Stopping, Standing or Parking at Any Time and, starting
from the southerly end of the No Parking zone, a 175-foot long section shall be established as
a restricted Two-Hour Parking, 8 am to 6 pm, except Sundays and Holidays, zone.
PASSED, ADOPTED, AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Poway at a
regular meeting thereof this 1 st day of August, 2006.
