A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF POWAY, CAliFORNIA
APPROVING COMPREHENSIVE SIGN PROGRAM 06-01
ASSESSOR'S PARCEL NUMBER 317-540-56
WHEREAS, Comprehensive Sign Program (CSP) 06-01, submitted by Stanford
Sign & Awning, Applicant, requests the approval of a Comprehensive Sign Program for
a four-tenant center at 13035 Pomerado Road, within the Community Business (CB)
zone and the Poway Road Specific Plan Area; and
WHEREAS, on September 19, 2006, the City Council considered the above-
referenced item.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Poway, as follows:
Section 1: This proposed project is Categorically Exempt (Class 11) from the
California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), pursuant to Section 15311 of the CEQA
Guidelines, in that it is for the placement of minor structures accessory to (appurtenant
to) existing facilities.
Section 2: The proposed use is in accordance with the purposes and standards
contained in the Poway Municipal Code and the Poway Road Specific Plan Area.
Section 3: The City Council hereby approves Comprehensive Sign Program 06-01,
pursuant to the plans on file in the Development Services Department, subject to the
following conditions:
A. Within 30 days of approval, the applicant shall submit in writing that all
Conditions of Approval have been read and understood.
B. All signs shall conform to the sign criteria and design guidelines contained within
the general provisions of the Comprehensive Sign Ordinance of the Poway
Municipal Code, as amended from time to time.
C. The following design standards shall apply to all tenants within the industrial
building:
1. The main tenant signs will be individual channel letters. The main tenant
has the choice to internally illuminate it or to backlight it.
2. Non-main tenant wall signs will be constructed of non-illuminated, flat cut-out
dimensional letters.

3. Lettering on wall signage may have the following colors: Black, Blue, or
White.
4. Helvetica Bold font type shall be used by all non-chain tenants.
5. Comprehensive Sign Program 06-01 will allow the use of different colors
for trademarked tenant logos. Tenants with non-trademarked logos with
different colors are allowed, upon approval by the Director of Development
Services through the individual Sign Permit process.
6. The maximum number of wall signs allowed for anyone business shall be
one per street or parking area frontage, not to exceed two.
D. Approval of this request shall not waive compliance with Chapter 17.40 of the
Zoning Code and all other applicable City Ordinances in effect at the time of Sign
Permit issuance.
E. Prior to installing a sign, the applicant shall obtain a Sign Permit from the
Planning Division and any necessary Building Division permits.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Poway,
State of California, at a regular meeting this 19th day of September 2006.
