A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
POWAY, CALIFORNIA, SUPPORTING THE "AMERICA
SUPPORTING AMERICANS' ADOPTION PROGRAM AND
ADOPTING THE 1ST AIR NAVAL GUNFIRE LIAISON COMPANY
WHEREAS, America Supporting Americans (ASA) was created to establish an adoption
program for every branch of the United States Armed Services by an American City;
WHEREAS, the purpose of the adoption program is to bond American communities with
the military men and women who bravely serve their country in a show of moral support with no
political ties; and
WHEREAS, the City of Poway, alongside local service organizations, has pledged its
support of this worthwhile program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Poway as follows:
SECTION 1: The City of Poway hereby adopts the United States 1st Air Naval Gunfire
Liaison Company (1st ANGLICO), homebased at Camp Pendleton. The City offers its ongoing
respect and support for this battalion.
SECTION 2: The City Council hereby designates Cheri Hoy, Executive Assistant to the
City Manager, to serve as the official liaison between the City of Poway in its efforts to support
the 1st ANGLICO. The City of Poway hereby encourages all City employees, City businesses,
local branches of service organizations, schools and residents to become involved in this effort to
support our men and women in the armed services.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of the
City of Poway, California on the 3rd day of August, 2021 by the following vote, to wit:
